Visit the oldest pottery village in Southeast Asia
Bau Truc in the central province of Ninh Thuan is the oldest pottery village in Southeast Asia, which also has a museum featuring traditional pottery of the Cham ethnic minority people. Bau Truc is located some 10 kilometres south of Phan Rang town. The small village is home to more than 400 families, of which 85 per cent are in the traditional pottery business. The profession is said to have been handed down originally from Po Klong Chanh, an ancestor and founder of the village.

Website welcomes global tourism
The central province of Thua Thien-Hue has launched a website in several languages aimed at promoting multiple activities that will take place in the province as part of National Tourism Year 2012. Content in Japanese would be added soon thanks to a co-operative project between the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA), said Ngo Hoa, standing Deputy Chairman of the province’s People’s Committe.

Downstreaming on Gam River

Sun beats down on glut of resorts

Investment during 2010-2011 levelled out and investors attributed the situation to the economic difficulties. Moreover, inefficient business performance at resorts and tourist sites in Phan Thiet city has contributed to the above phenomenon.

Are you ready for the country?
After a two hour drive from Hanoi you will arrive at Giang Mo village in Cao Phong district of Hoa Binh province, where Muong people live in a wonderfully idyllic setting. It remains relatively tourist free to promote itself as a ‘tourism village.’ The village is populated by Muong people, the third largest ethnic group in Vietnam with an estimated population of 1.2 million, the bulk of which dwell in the mountainous regions of Hoa Binh or Thanh Hoa provinces.
